VM gælder ikke kun verdensmesterskabet men der er også billetter til OL i spil. Dette gælder naturligvis kun for recurve, da compound ikke er på det olympiske program.

Hold pladser
Ved VM får de 8 bedste hold en billet for 3 skytter til OL, i alt 24 pladser. Storbritannien får som vært 3 pladser for damer henholdsvis herrer. Det betyder at hvis Storbritannien slutter mellem de 8 bedste, så får nr. 9 også en billet. Det betyder så at de 8 hold som har tabt i 1/8 finalen, nu skal skyde om en plads.
Individuelle pladser
De 8 som individuelt slutter bedst vil også få en billet. Her gælder dog at man skal fjerne de britiske skytter og dem som har fået en holdbillet. Det betyder at man ikke kan sige noget endnu og hvilket nummer man skal blive for at få en billet.
Der uddeles ialt 35 billetter ved VM - 3 til Storbritannien, 24 i hold og 8 individuelle. Der kommer ialt 64 med til OL - de resterende billetter uddeles senere.
Set fra de danske pigers synspunkt, får de en billet hvis de vinder over USA mens et nederlag kan give omskydning med 7 andre, dette dog kun såfremt Storbritannien vinder over Rusland. Dette ved vi onsdag.
For både damerne og herrerne gælder at man naturligvis også kan tage en af de individuelle billetter, hvilket afgøres på torsdag.

The first step of the Olympic Games qualification will take place here in Torino.
A) Great Britain
As soon as the 6 British Archers have shot one arrow, they have obtained 6 quota places.
B) Team places.
The top 8 nations not including GBR obtain each 3 quota places. If GBR is among the top 8 places (meaning they compete in the 1/8th elimination and win their match) a secondary bracket for the 8 teams that lost their first round will be shot at the same time as the 1/4 finals for the World Championships will take place. The winner of this secondary tournament will obtain the 8th spot for Teams. This will all happen on Wednesday. At this stage we will have 27 individual quota places distributed per gender.
C) Individual places.
The top 8 individual places from 8 different countries will get also a quota place. However this is after the British archers and the top 8 teams have been removed from the final individual ranking. Based on a qualification system simulation/test done during the World Cups in Antalya and Porec the last places are very likely positioned among the ones that won the 1/16th or lost in the 1/16th elimination. For that a secondary tournament will be organized for the athletes that lost.
If the last quota place is among the athletes that lost in the 1/24th, the secondary tournament
will be held on Friday during the 1/8th eliminations of the World Championships. If they are in the 1/16th elimination, there will be shot during the 1/8th or 1/4 finals of the World Championships. If there is a need to continue, the Friday afternoon might be used. The secondary tournaments for this Olympic Qualification will take place towards the middle of the field. The regular world championships matches will move towards the sides where there are the grandstands.
The secondary tournament will include a double elimination if necessary. Depending on the exact situation all the details will be explained-informed during the event, since we cannot predict each possible situation that could occur. However on Friday afternoon we will be able to announce the 35 quota places per gender obtained in Torino.
